Man charged after £140,000 of drugs found following car search

Police made the discovery after noticing a man ‘acting suspiciously’ in Aberdeen.

A man has been charged after heroin and cocaine worth more than £140,000 was seized following a car and property search in Aberdeen.

Officers searched a vehicle in the city’s Don Street after a man was noticed “acting suspiciously” on June 6, around 12pm.

The search revealed drugs, which lead to further searches at a property on North Anderson Drive.

Overall, Class A drugs with a street value of £140,550 were recovered, and a 26-year-old man was arrested and charged.

Police recovered £130,200 worth of cocaine, alongside heroin with a street value of £4,350.

The 26-year-old man appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Detective sergeant Erika Griffiths said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and Police Scotland is committed to using all tools and tactics available to prevent the sale and distribution of illegal substances.
